Our Sporting Life is a unique and ambitious celebration of sporting heritage. It is a national project telling the stories of British sport through a programme of community exhibitions and events.
Here in Greater Manchester, Our Sporting Life began as a series of exhibitions created by young people that toured across five venues during 2011-12:
- Gallery Oldham
- Salford Museums and Galleries
- Hatworks Museum, Stockport
- Wigan Leisure and Culture Trust
- Tameside Art Gallery and Museum
The final phase of the Our Sporting Life story in Greater Manchester will culminate in a brand new exhibition created by young people especially for the National Football Museum in Manchester. The exhibition, Our Sport, Our Life, will be launched in July 2012.
